Ask The Preacher's Wife

Now Listen…

In order for this to work correctly, you have to hear my voice in your head as you read through this blog.

Im not going to lie; my voice is ANNOYING! But, in Black Church culture, it’s best described as a definite Alto, with possible solo abilities. Stop right there…somebody already knows what I’m talking about! The truth is, in Black Church culture, if more than one person asks “Can you sing?” after hearing you speak, it means either one of three things:

  1. You sound like some husky-voiced alto or some sqeeky-voiced soprano

  2. You’ve most likely been spotted on a church choir singing in the background (because let’s face it, if you were a soloist, you’d be remembered and you wouldn’t be asked if you can sing or not).

  3. There is a 90% chance that you really can’t sing that well, but will tear the choir stand up while holding that “Amen” during total praise!

Anyway, like I was saying, in order for this blog life to work, you have to be able to hear me telling stories in your mind. I mean…not really…but I personally think it would be funnier.

So, below is a clip from The Preacher’s Wife radio segment on Your Voice with Solomon Jones on Philly’s Praise 107.9. And when you’re ready, come on back and read through some other stories.
